About Southern Skies Events & Our Partners

 

Southern Skies hosts international sports events for secondary school-aged teams. Based within Brisbane Boys' College, Southern Skies has been in operation since 1998. Our flagship event, the Southern Skies Tournament, is held each July and hosts competitions in rugby, netball, hockey and football. This event regularly attracts around 1500 participants, with teams travelling from all over the world to attend. Our summer event, the Southern Skies Challenge is a smaller cricket competition held each December.

 

Through the sporting events we host, we provide a distinctive educational and cultural encounter that we trust remains a highlight of students' time at school. The multicultural atmosphere of our events is highlighted by our motto "uniting the spirit of youth".

Australian Sport Awards

In 2003 and 2004 Southern Skies Events was nominated as a finalist in the Sports Tourism category of the annual Australian Sport Awards. It is a great honour to be named in such prestigious company as the Rugby World Cup and World Track Cycling Championships.
