Brisbane Australia     6 - 10 December 2010

Welcome to the Southern Skies Challenge

The annual Southern Skies Challenge, hosted by Brisbane Boys' College, will be held again this year to coincide with the beginning of the Christmas school holidays. The dates for 2010 are Monday 6th - Friday 10th December.

The Southern Skies Challenge is a five day cricket competition featuring one day matches with 45 over innings. The event traditionally hosts approximately 12-16 teams from across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and presents a week of diverse and exciting competition interspersed with a range of cultural and social experiences.

2009 Event

A full complement of 16 teams joined us in Brisbane late last year. The traditional cross Tasman rivalry was in full force with four teams from New Zealand participating alongside teams from Western Australia, Victoria, across Brisbane, and for the first time, South Australia. The week certainly produced some exciting and competitive cricket. Congratulations to Kings College from Auckland, New Zealand who triumphed over Brisbane Boys' College on the very last ball of the day. It was a wonderful finish to what was the best ever Southern Skies Challenge.

Many teams attend Southern Skies with different goals in mind - some to win, some to experience a diversity of opposition, work on their skill development, team building, and others are here as a reward for hard work, to have fun, and enjoy a sporting tour with contemporaries from other countries.  Whatever your goals, we hope that you are able to enjoy all that Southern Skies has to offer and that it makes for long-lasting memories and friendships.
